Adela Mei
Adela Mei is the founder of Jackdaw, a digital brand strategy consultancy based in Somerset.
She helps consultants, coaches, and creatives build an online presence that’s engaging, coherent, and credible – one that reflects the true nature of their work.
Adela has worked in digital strategy and communications since 2007. Before that, she studied ecology – a background that shaped how she sees everything.
An ecosystem works when all its parts are connected and in balance. A digital presence works the same way. Websites, profiles, content, visibility – they’re one living digital system.
The shift from ecosystems to AI systems was a natural one. The patterns she learned in ecology are the same patterns she sees in digital strategy. What connects. What’s out of balance. Where the energy is blocked.
Adela draws her inspiration from nature and her earlier career took her from corporate land management and biodiversity projects to international conservation in Guatemala and Peru, where she cofounded two wildlife research organisations. The natural world taught her to see whole systems – and that’s the perspective she brings to her work.
She is an advocate for the ethical use of AI and believes the most important intelligence is the one you already have – your own clarity about who you are and what you stand for.
That’s the thinking behind Talk to a Tree, Not ChatGPT – her 2026 mission to help women in tech reconnect with nature. Because the same people building digital futures also need to remember what inspires and nurtures them.
Adela is based in Somerset and works with clients across the UK and internationally. Originally from London, she followed a heart calling to the West Country. Her most profound personal achievement is learning to ride a motorbike at 50 – which gave her a highly focused mind, positive attitude, and massive confidence.
